A local court in Islamabad sentenced Umar Hayat to two years imprisonment on Wednesday in a separate arms-related case connected to the murder of social media influencer Sana Yousaf. Additional Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka delivered the verdict under Section 13 of the Pakistan Arms Ordinance.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on Hayat, with a stipulation that failure to pay would result in an additional month of incarceration. This latest sentence raises Hayat’s total prison term to 23 years and cumulative fines to Rs2.6 million.

Notably, this ruling follows a death sentence handed down by the same court just a day earlier. In that decision, Hayat was sentenced to death as the principal accused in the murder of the TikTok star Sana Yousaf, along with a Rs2 million fine.

In a concise two-page order, Judge Majoka also imposed multiple other sentences and fines on Hayat for various charges. The convict received 10 years imprisonment and a Rs200,000 fine under Section 392, another 10 years and Rs200,000 fine under Section 499, and an additional one-year imprisonment with a Rs100,000 fine under Section 411.

Altogether, these rulings amount to a combined 21-year prison sentence and fines totaling Rs2.5 million, prior to the recent arms case sentence.

Sana Yousaf, who had just turned 17 a week before her death, was a prominent social media personality with over a million followers across platforms. She was killed at her residence in Islamabad on June 2, 2025. Yousaf was especially popular on TikTok, where she amassed more than 800,000 followers by sharing lip-sync videos, skincare advice, and beauty product promotions.
