British actor Regé-Jean Page has finally responded to the widespread rumors suggesting he might be the next James Bond. Best known for his role as Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, in the first season of Bridgerton, Page described the speculation as “really bizarre.” The 38-year-old expressed that the situation felt unusual and out of the ordinary.

In an interview with Esquire UK, Page elaborated on how he copes with such intense rumors, emphasizing the importance of focusing on what benefits his career and allows him to perform effectively for his audience. He explained that maintaining a grounded approach is key to handling the pressure.

Page, who stars in The Gray Man, revealed that the swirling rumors created a loud and intense internal experience. He consciously worked to maintain a sense of normalcy amid the overwhelming conversations surrounding him.

Meanwhile, during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Page acknowledged the flattering nature of the speculation. He expressed pride in being associated with the iconic James Bond legacy, calling it a “badge” and appreciating the distinguished company of actors who have held the role.
