Islamabad Traffic Police launch online learner permit services

Islamabad Traffic Police have said residents of the capital can apply online for learner permits, driving licence renewals and duplicate licences starting Monday, October 19. The move is intended to make things easier for motorists, the force said.

Applicants will be able to use the traffic police’s online portal and will not have to go to licensing offices to file their forms, according to the ITP. Renewed and duplicate licences will be sent directly to applicants’ homes through TCS, which the police said will spare people repeat trips to collect documents.

Online applications and home delivery of licences

Chief Traffic Officer Kainat Azhar Khan asked applicants to provide their full names, accurate residential addresses and active mobile phone numbers. She warned that wrong or incomplete addresses could delay delivery of driving licences.

The initiative was introduced on the instructions of Islamabad Inspector General of Police Captain (retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry as part of efforts to expand digital services. Police said the aim is to save citizens time and improve access to public services through a simpler application process.

The official Islamabad Police website already offers online learner-permit applications and other driving-licence facilities. The driving-licence portal is available at dlims.islamabadpolice.gov.pk.

Faizabad headquarters and Khidmat Markaz services end

The police announcement said the relevant services will no longer be offered at Traffic Headquarters in Faizabad or at other Khidmat Markaz centres from Monday. Residents are advised to check the online portal for application procedures and updated instructions before visiting any licensing centre.
