Eight terrorists killed in Balochistan operations, ISPR says

Security forces killed eight terrorists in three intelligence-based operations in Balochistan, the military’s media wing said. The operations were carried out in Panjpai, Nushki and Khuzdar, and troops also recovered 490 kilogrammes of explosives from a hideout in Khuzdar.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that five militants died in Panjpai, two in Nushki and one in Khuzdar. It described the targets as members of what it called the Indian-sponsored network Fitna al-Hindustan.

Clashes in Panjpai, Nushki and Khuzdar

In Panjpai, militants tried to block a road, the ISPR said, and five of them were killed in the operation that followed. In Nushki, forces destroyed a hideout during an exchange of fire, killing two, and recovered weapons and ammunition from the site.

In a separate Khuzdar operation, one terrorist was killed and 490kg of explosives were found in a hideout. Clearance operations were still under way in the affected areas to locate any remaining militants and their accomplices.

Interior minister praises security forces

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for killing the eight terrorists and commended their operational capabilities. In a statement, he said the successes against terrorists and their facilitators were commendable.

Naqvi warned that those involved in terrorism and their supporters would find no place to hide. He said the nation stood shoulder to shoulder with the security forces in efforts to eliminate terrorism, while the ISPR said the counterterrorism campaign under Azm-e-Istehkam would continue.
