Gold Prices Decline by Rs600, PSX Gains 404 Points in Pakistan

In a notable market shift on Tuesday, gold prices in Pakistan dropped by Rs600 per tola, while the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) saw its benchmark KSE-100 Index rise by 404 points, signaling renewed investor confidence following Monday’s mixed trading session.

Data from the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) showed that the price of gold declined to Rs486,536 per tola, down from Rs487,136 recorded the previous day. Similarly, the price for 10 grams of gold decreased by Rs514, settling at Rs417,126 based on the latest market valuations.

Gold prices have experienced volatility in recent days, largely influenced by fluctuations in the international bullion market. As a traditionally safe-haven asset, gold’s demand is often shaped by factors such as economic uncertainty, inflationary pressures, geopolitical tensions, and expectations surrounding monetary policy adjustments.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Stock Exchange rebounded strongly on Tuesday, with the KSE-100 Index closing at 177,370 points. This marked a 404-point increase from Monday’s close of 176,966 points, which had seen a decline of 199 points at the start of the week.

The market’s recovery followed a cautious opening as investors monitored domestic economic indicators and overall market sentiment. The gain pushed the benchmark index above the 177,000-point threshold by the end of trading, reflecting a positive turn in market dynamics.
