Houthis Intensify Missile and Drone Strikes on Marib and al-Makha

The ongoing conflict in Yemen has seen a sharp escalation as Houthi forces launched fresh missile and drone attacks targeting the strategic cities of Marib and al-Makha. These strikes have resulted in the deaths of at least four individuals, with eight others sustaining injuries. Both cities hold significant military and economic importance, making them frequent flashpoints in the prolonged war.

Marib, known for its oil resources and as a government stronghold, has been a focal point of intense fighting between Houthi rebels and Yemeni government forces backed by a Saudi-led coalition. Meanwhile, al-Makha, a vital port city on the Red Sea, plays a crucial role in maritime trade routes, amplifying the impact of these attacks on regional stability and humanitarian conditions.

In a significant development, the use of drones alongside missiles highlights the Houthis’ evolving military capabilities and their strategic intent to pressure government-held areas. These attacks exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, complicating peace efforts and threatening the fragile security situation in the region. The international community continues to call for de-escalation and renewed dialogue to end the conflict that has devastated millions.
