Kuwaiti air defense forces successfully detected and intercepted four cruise missiles along with 21 hostile unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that violated the country’s airspace early Wednesday, the Ministry of Defence confirmed. The attacks targeted several vital installations and critical infrastructure across Kuwait during the pre-dawn hours.

Colonel Saud Al-Atwan, the ministry’s spokesperson, stated that the aerial interceptions neutralized the main threats effectively. Although there were no casualties or loss of life, the resulting debris and impacts caused material damage to some facilities. Emergency response teams, including the Kuwait Fire Force, were promptly deployed to control localized fires triggered by the strikes.

This incident occurs amid escalating military tensions in the Gulf region. Colonel Al-Atwan emphasized that the Kuwaiti Armed Forces remain on high alert, continuing their mission to protect the nation’s sovereign borders and ensure the safety of all citizens and residents. Neighboring countries and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have condemned the hostile aerial attacks on Kuwaiti territory.

In a significant development, the Ministry of Defence released cumulative data on aerial threats since the onset of the current security escalation. figures from the Army General Staff Headquarters, Kuwaiti air defenses have intercepted a total of 970 hostile UAVs, 387 ballistic missiles, and 25 cruise missiles during the ongoing conflict.

In response to the persistent threat, security measures have been significantly strengthened at Kuwait’s northern border posts and maritime installations, underscoring the heightened state of vigilance across the country.
