Former US President Donald Trump has urged Congress to promptly approve a $350 billion defense package as soon as legislative sessions resume, emphasizing its critical role in maintaining the nation’s military strength. He described the measure as vital for sustaining the United States’ defense capabilities.

In a statement shared on the social media platform Truth Social on Tuesday, Trump highlighted that the US military “has never been stronger or more powerful.” He noted that recruitment goals had been met ahead of schedule and that troop morale was at an unprecedented high.

Trump also pointed to the military’s display of strength during the recent celebration of 250 years of American independence, asserting that the defense system was operating at peak efficiency.

He called on leaders in both the House of Representatives and the Senate to expedite the passage of ‘Reconciliation 3.0,’ a key budgetary framework that includes the $350 billion defense allocation, alongside the proposed ‘Save America Act.’

“I am urging House and Senate leadership to prioritize this and ensure that the $350 billion in Recon 3.0 advances out of the Budget Committee immediately upon Congress reconvening,” Trump stated.

In a significant development, Trump expressed optimism that bipartisan cooperation could swiftly secure approval for both the Save America Act and comprehensive funding for the Department of Defense. He stressed that these legislative actions are essential to preserving American freedom for future generations amid shifting global security threats.
