Huzaifa Rehman Condemns Fazlur Rehman’s Controversial Remarks as Hurtful

Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Huzaifa Rehman voiced strong disappointment over recent remarks made by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, describing them as deeply hurtful. The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader had addressed a rally in Kasur, Punjab, where he commented on the security and terrorism challenges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

During his speech, Fazlur Rehman acknowledged the sacrifices of soldiers but also noted that military personnel receive salaries for their duties. This statement sparked controversy and drew criticism from government officials.

Huzaifa Rehman emphasized that such comments from a senior political figure demand greater sensitivity, especially given the delicate nature of national security issues. He highlighted that Indian media outlets were exploiting Fazlur Rehman’s words to fuel propaganda against Pakistan.

In a significant development, Huzaifa Rehman called on Maulana Fazlur Rehman to issue a formal apology for his remarks, underlining the importance of responsible dialogue on matters of national importance.

Meanwhile, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif also responded to the statement, labeling it as unfair. He expressed his expectation that an experienced politician like Fazlur Rehman would exercise more caution in his choice of words.
