The Punjab government implemented a significant reshuffle in its provincial bureaucracy on Tuesday, appointing new deputy commissioners across several districts and assigning senior officials to important administrative roles.
Owais Mushtaq has been named Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Sialkot, while Maham Asif Malik will take charge as the new DC of Toba Tek Singh. Muhammad Ikram Malik has been assigned as DC Okara, and Babar Sahib Din, Director General of the Suthra Punjab Authority, has been posted as DC Jhang.
Hina Arshad is the new DC of Khanewal, and Rana Hameed has been appointed DC of Nankana Sahib, replacing Tasleem Akhtar Rasool. Syed Muhammad Abbas Shah will serve as DC Bahawalnagar.
In addition to district appointments, the reshuffle includes key provincial department assignments. Muhammad Waheed Asghar Bhatti has been appointed Managing Director of the Punjab Resource Management and Policy Unit.
Meanwhile, former DC Sialkot Saba Asghar Ali will now serve as Chief of Section at the Punjab Planning and Development Board. Ahmed Usman Javed, the previous DC of Okara, has been posted as Additional Secretary in the Punjab Home Department. Ali Akbar, former DC Jhang, has been appointed Additional Secretary of the Irrigation Department, and Muhammad Tasleem Akhtar Rao will serve as Additional Secretary for the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department.
Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhon has been named Chief Executive Officer of the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority. Captain (retd) Syed Ali Asghar has been assigned as Additional Secretary in the Punjab Finance Department. Meanwhile, former DC Khanewal Maliha Rashid has been directed to report to the Services and General Administration Department (SGAD) to undertake a Senior Management Course.
These administrative changes reflect the Punjab government’s ongoing efforts to reorganize provincial administration and enhance governance at both district and departmental levels.
