In a significant development reflecting the close diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Iran, Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has extended a formal invitation to Pakistan’s National Assembly Speaker, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. The invitation is for a condolence ceremony scheduled to be held in Tehran on July 3, 2026, in honor of the late Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei.

The invitation was conveyed through an official letter addressed to Speaker Ayaz Sadiq by Ghalibaf. In this correspondence, the Iranian speaker not only invited Sadiq to participate in the solemn event but also expressed heartfelt condolences on the passing of Ayatollah Khamenei. This gesture underscores the importance Iran places on its relationship with Pakistan, highlighting the enduring brotherly ties and strategic partnership shared by the two neighboring countries.

Moreover, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf took the opportunity to send his best wishes to the people of Pakistan, as well as to Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and the members of the National Assembly. He emphasized Iran’s commitment to strengthening the bonds of mutual respect, dignity, and cooperation, which have historically defined the bilateral relationship between the two nations.

Responding to this invitation, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq expressed his gratitude to his Iranian counterpart for the thoughtful gesture. This exchange of condolences and invitations marks a continuation of the diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Iran, reflecting their shared interests and the importance of maintaining strong ties in the region.
