Islamabad witnessed a significant milestone as Pakistan’s Army Rocket Force Command carried out a successful training launch of the domestically developed Fatah-IV ground-launched cruise missile on Thursday. This test was designed to evaluate the operational readiness of troops and verify the missile system’s technical specifications, which include the capability to strike long-range targets with high accuracy.

The military’s media wing highlighted that the exercise aimed to boost the operational efficiency of the forces while validating the technical parameters of various subsystems integrated into the missile for improved precision and survivability. The Fatah-IV is equipped with advanced avionics and state-of-the-art navigation aids, enhancing its performance in complex scenarios.

Senior officers from the Army Rocket Force Command, alongside scientists and engineers involved in the missile’s development, observed the training launch. In a notable development, President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Defence Staff and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, as well as the chiefs of the Navy and Air Force, extended their congratulations to the teams responsible for this achievement.

The military leadership lauded the technical expertise, dedication, and commitment demonstrated by the personnel engaged in the development and testing of the Fatah series missile system. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also praised the Army Rocket Force Command, describing the successful test as a major accomplishment and a crucial advancement in Pakistan’s defense capabilities.

This successful launch follows closely on the heels of a recent training launch of the Fatah-II missile system conducted less than three weeks earlier. Furthermore, in September 2025, the Pakistan Army had previously executed a training launch of the Fatah-IV cruise missile, which reportedly has a range of 750 kilometers, underscoring ongoing progress in the country’s missile technology development.
