Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Doha, Qatar, on Thursday following a successful visit to Saudi Arabia. Upon his arrival, he was warmly received by Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, who welcomed the Prime Minister and his delegation at the airport.
In a significant development, the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The discussions will focus on Pakistan’s ongoing initiatives aimed at promoting regional and global peace. Accompanying the Prime Minister is a high-level delegation, underscoring the importance of the visit.
Earlier, in Jeddah, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Their meeting, which lasted nearly two hours, involved detailed conversations on the shifting dynamics of the regional landscape.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed deep condolences for the recent loss of lives, emphasizing Pakistan’s solidarity with the Saudi people. He also commended Saudi Arabia for its exemplary patience and restraint amid challenging circumstances.
Notably, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif shared updates on Pakistan’s peace efforts, highlighting the role these played in facilitating the U.S.-Iran ceasefire and the historic round of talks between the U.S. and Iran held recently in Islamabad. The Crown Prince acknowledged and appreciated the constructive contributions of both Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in advancing the peace process.
