Punjab CM Launches Mobile App for Online FIR Filing of Lost Documents

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Punjab Police Pakistan App on Thursday, a new digital platform allowing citizens to file FIRs for lost documents from their homes. This app enables users to report missing identity cards, passports, and driving licences without the need to visit police stations or service centres.

Once a complaint is submitted through the app, a copy of the FIR will be delivered directly to the complainant’s residence. The chief minister highlighted that this initiative is part of the government’s commitment to making public services more accessible through modern technology. She emphasized that facilitating convenience for the public via innovation remains a key priority, aiming to place Punjab on a path of technological progress.

The app is expected to save citizens both time and money, while also alleviating the stress associated with physically visiting police stations and waiting in queues to file reports.

Meanwhile, in a related development, the third phase of the Kisan Card Loan scheme was launched in Chiniot district to support landowners and farmers. This initiative aligns with the Punjab government’s farmer-friendly policies and was introduced under the guidance of the Secretary Agriculture to improve financial access and boost agricultural productivity.

To maximize outreach, teams from the Agriculture Extension Department have been actively engaging with local communities by making announcements in mosques and meeting villagers directly. Officials are also consulting with landowners and stakeholders to raise awareness about the scheme’s benefits and the registration process.

Dedicated facilitation desks have been set up at both tehsil and district levels to streamline the registration process, ensuring farmers can complete formalities efficiently and without unnecessary delays. Authorities expressed optimism that this initiative will help a greater number of farmers access financial support, easing economic pressures and promoting sustainable agricultural development in the district.
