On Friday evening, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a significant telephone conversation with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. The call was marked by a warm and friendly tone as both leaders took the opportunity to exchange heartfelt greetings on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, a festival celebrated by millions across the Muslim world. This exchange of pleasantries highlighted the enduring goodwill and respect shared between Pakistan and Egypt.

During the discussion, Prime Minister Shehbaz extended his sincere Eid wishes not only to President el-Sisi but also to the entire Egyptian nation. In return, President el-Sisi conveyed his best regards to the prime minister and the people of Pakistan, underscoring the strong cultural and religious bonds that unite the two countries. Such exchanges reinforce the spirit of solidarity and friendship that has historically defined Pakistan-Egypt relations.

The conversation also provided an important platform for the prime minister to reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to nurturing and expanding the brotherly ties between the two nations. He emphasized Islamabad’s dedication to enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including trade, education, and cultural exchange. This commitment reflects a shared vision to deepen collaboration and mutual support in areas of common interest.

Moreover, Prime Minister Shehbaz acknowledged Egypt’s pivotal and constructive role in regional and global diplomacy. He praised Cairo’s efforts in promoting peace and stability, particularly in the volatile Middle East region. Egypt’s diplomatic initiatives have long been recognized as instrumental in addressing complex challenges and fostering dialogue among conflicting parties.

Turning to pressing geopolitical concerns, the two leaders discussed the unfolding developments in Iran and the broader Gulf region. Both expressed serious apprehension over the escalating tensions that threaten regional security and economic stability. They agreed on the urgent need for continued diplomatic engagement and dialogue to ease hostilities and prevent further deterioration of the situation.

In conclusion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi committed to maintaining close communication channels. Their shared objective remains to promote peace, stability, and cooperation not only between Pakistan and Egypt but also across the wider Middle East. This conversation serves as a reminder of the importance of diplomatic efforts in resolving conflicts and strengthening international partnerships.
