Ministry Assures Hajj Flights Will Proceed as Scheduled Despite Middle East Concerns

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has firmly dismissed recent rumors circulating in some media outlets about a possible suspension of Hajj flights due to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. Officials emphasized that such claims are unfounded and misleading, reassuring the public that all arrangements for the upcoming Hajj season in 2026 are progressing smoothly and the original timeline.

A spokesperson from the ministry clarified that no official decision has been made to delay or halt the scheduled flights for Hajj pilgrims. The ministry remains fully committed to facilitating the sacred journey for Pakistani pilgrims and is actively coordinating all necessary logistics. The spokesperson highlighted that linking the Hajj flight schedule to geopolitical developments in the region is speculative and lacks any factual support.

In addition to addressing these rumors, the ministry confirmed that the visa issuance process for prospective pilgrims is currently underway with full momentum. Administrative and operational preparations are also being finalized in line with the planned deadlines to ensure that all travel and accommodation arrangements are completed well before departure. This proactive approach aims to provide a seamless experience for pilgrims embarking on their spiritual journey.

Looking ahead, the official flight schedule for Hajj 2026 will be publicly announced after Eid ul-Fitr, at which point pilgrims will receive comprehensive information about their travel itineraries, lodging in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, and other essential details. The ministry urged all intending pilgrims to disregard unverified reports and to rely solely on official communications issued by the ministry to avoid confusion and misinformation.

Earlier directives from the Ministry of Religious Affairs instructed private Hajj operators to complete the visa processing for pilgrims by March 15, ahead of the Saudi government’s final deadline of March 20. This measure was taken to prevent any last-minute delays that could arise due to the Eid holidays or unforeseen circumstances. A letter dated March 9, addressed to the Chairman of the Hajj Organisers Association of Pakistan (HOAP) and various Hajj companies, stressed the importance of adhering to this timeline to ensure smooth processing.

In a related development, the ministry has also released a detailed and user-friendly guidebook titled “Rehnuma-e-Hajj” (Hajj Guide) to assist pilgrims preparing for Hajj 2026. This comprehensive manual covers every step of the pilgrimage, from departure procedures in Pakistan to the performance of rituals in the holy sites, and finally the return journey. The guidebook is thoughtfully organized into chapters that explain each phase in clear and accessible language, aiming to educate and support pilgrims throughout their spiritual expedition.

These efforts reflect the ministry’s dedication to ensuring that Pakistani pilgrims can undertake their Hajj pilgrimage with confidence and peace of mind, despite the complex geopolitical environment in the Middle East. By maintaining transparent communication and efficient administrative processes, the ministry hopes to uphold the sanctity and smooth conduct of one of Islam’s most important religious obligations.
