The Punjab School Education Department has initiated a significant reshuffle involving the transfer and posting of several senior officials throughout the province. This large-scale administrative move was officially announced on Tuesday, reflecting the department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen educational governance and improve operational effectiveness at the district level.

The notification regarding these changes was issued by Mudassar Riaz, the Secretary of the Punjab School Education Department, who emphasized the importance of placing experienced leadership in key positions to address the evolving challenges within the education sector. Such reshuffles are often part of routine administrative reforms aimed at optimizing resource allocation and ensuring better oversight of educational institutions across Punjab.

Among the notable transfers, Nazir Hussain, who previously served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Education in Lahore, has been reassigned as the District Education Officer (DEO) for Mianwali. This move is expected to bring fresh perspectives to the Mianwali district’s education administration. Meanwhile, Tariq Mahmood, formerly CEO Education in Rawalpindi, has been transferred to take charge as CEO Education in Lahore, marking a strategic shift in leadership between two major districts.

Further changes include Muhammad Yaseen Khan, who has been moved from his role as CEO Education in Wazirabad to Rawalpindi, while Asif Masood has been appointed as the new CEO Education for Wazirabad. This swap aims to leverage their respective expertise in managing district-level education challenges. Additionally, Irshad Nazar Abbas has been assigned the position of CEO Education in Rajanpur, a district that has been under focus for educational development initiatives.

In a notable decision, the services of Aqila Intikhab Khan, who was serving as CEO Education in Jhang, have been withdrawn. Following this, Tanveer Ahmed has been appointed as the new CEO Education for Jhang, signaling a fresh start for the district’s education leadership. Furthermore, Malik Tariq Abbas, who held the position of DEO in Mianwali, has been removed from his post with immediate effect, underscoring the department’s commitment to accountability and performance-based administration.

This comprehensive reshuffle reflects the department’s proactive approach to addressing administrative bottlenecks and enhancing the quality of education delivery across Punjab. By repositioning experienced officials in critical roles, the department aims to foster improved coordination, better policy implementation, and ultimately, a positive impact on the educational outcomes for students throughout the province.
