In a tragic incident near Kashmir Road in Karachi, a well-known fashion designer lost his life after being shot by unidentified criminals during an attempted robbery. The victim, Muhammad Salah Shaikh, aged 46, was attacked late Monday while returning home from the gym on his motorcycle. The shooting took place close to China Park, an area under the jurisdiction of the Jamshed Quarters police station.

police reports, two men on a motorcycle tried to snatch Shaikh’s mobile phone as he was passing through the area. When he resisted their attempt, the assailants opened fire, critically wounding him. Emergency services quickly transported the injured man to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, one of Karachi’s major hospitals. Despite medical efforts, Shaikh succumbed to his injuries, leaving his family and community in shock.

Family members revealed that the attackers also managed to steal his purse and cash before fleeing the scene. This was not the first time Shaikh had been targeted; he had been robbed at the same location just days earlier. Following that earlier incident, he had visited the local police station multiple times to file complaints about the rising street crime and the specific threat to his safety in the area.

Relatives described Shaikh as a respected fashion designer who lived near Martin Road Imambargah. He was the fourth child among six siblings and reportedly had no known personal disputes or enemies. His death has raised concerns about the increasing lawlessness and insecurity in parts of Karachi, especially in areas frequented by pedestrians and commuters.

Law enforcement authorities have initiated a thorough investigation into the shooting and are actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend the suspects involved. Meanwhile, the victim’s family has expressed deep frustration over what they perceive as inadequate police action to prevent such crimes. They have called for swift justice and stronger measures to curb the surge in street robberies and violence in the neighborhood.

This incident highlights the persistent challenges faced by Karachi’s residents in terms of public safety and the urgent need for enhanced policing and community vigilance. As the city continues to grapple with crime, families like Shaikh’s are left mourning the loss of loved ones and demanding accountability from law enforcement agencies.
