Pakistani Forces Kill 67 Afghan Taliban in Repelled Attacks Across Balochistan and KP

In a significant blow to the Afghan Taliban, Pakistani security forces successfully repelled a series of coordinated assaults across the provinces of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday. At least 67 militants affiliated with the Afghan Taliban were killed, while numerous others sustained injuries during intense clashes, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar announced in a detailed briefing. These developments come as part of Pakistan’s ongoing counteroffensive, Operation Ghazb lil Haq, aimed at neutralizing cross-border threats.

The Afghan Taliban launched attacks on multiple fronts, targeting 16 different locations in northern Balochistan, including key districts such as Qilla Saifullah, Noshki, and Chaman. The militants also engaged Pakistani troops in heavy firefights at 25 separate sites within the province. Despite the scale and coordination of these assaults, Pakistani forces managed to thwart all attempts, inflicting substantial losses on the attackers. Tarar highlighted that 27 militants were killed in Balochistan alone, with many others wounded during the confrontations.

Tragically, the fierce fighting came at a cost for Pakistan’s security personnel as well. One soldier from the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan North lost his life while valiantly defending the country’s borders, and five other personnel were injured in the process. The sacrifice of the fallen soldier underscores the ongoing risks faced by Pakistani forces as they continue to safeguard national sovereignty against militant incursions.

Meanwhile, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Afghan Taliban attempted to breach security at one primary location and launched fire raids at an additional 12 sites. Pakistani troops responded swiftly and decisively, repelling all attacks without suffering any casualties. The minister confirmed that 40 militants were killed during overnight operations in the province, further weakening the insurgents’ operational capabilities in the region.

Operation Ghazb lil Haq, which was initiated on the night of February 27, 2026, represents a robust and coordinated military campaign by Pakistan’s armed forces. This operation was launched in direct response to unprovoked cross-border attacks by the Afghan Taliban, targeting militant hideouts and military installations along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The campaign employs a combination of airstrikes and ground offensives, aiming to dismantle Taliban infrastructure and disrupt their operational networks.

Authorities have emphasized that the operation will continue relentlessly until all strategic objectives are met, ensuring the security and stability of Pakistan’s border regions. Pakistani officials have also reiterated their commitment to conducting the operation with precision, prioritizing the safety of civilians while delivering a strong and proportionate response to hostile actions. Follow-up operations are currently underway, and a comprehensive update is expected to be released later today, providing further insights into the progress of this critical military campaign.
