Islamabad, March 3, 2026: Federal Information Minister Ata Tarar provided a comprehensive update on the ongoing military campaign, Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, focusing on recent confrontations with the Afghan Taliban in the provinces of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The minister detailed how Pakistani security forces successfully thwarted a series of coordinated enemy offensives during overnight engagements, underscoring the resilience and preparedness of the armed forces.
In Northern Balochistan, Taliban militants launched aggressive physical assaults across 16 distinct locations, including the districts of Qilla Saifullah, Noshki, and Chaman. These attacks were complemented by intense fire raids targeting Pakistani troops at 25 separate sites. Despite the scale and intensity of these offensives, the military managed to repel all attempts, inflicting heavy losses on the insurgents. The confrontation resulted in the deaths of 27 Taliban fighters, with numerous others wounded in the clashes.
However, the Pakistani forces also faced sacrifices during these operations. One soldier from the Frontier Corps Balochistan North lost his life while valiantly defending the nation’s borders. Additionally, five other soldiers sustained injuries amid the fierce fighting. Their bravery and commitment were acknowledged as a testament to the dedication of Pakistan’s security personnel in maintaining peace and stability in volatile regions.
Meanwhile, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Taliban attempted a ground assault at a single location, alongside conducting fire raids at 12 other sites. Pakistani troops successfully repelled these attacks without suffering any casualties, demonstrating tactical superiority and effective defensive measures. The operations in KP proved particularly decisive, with 40 Taliban militants killed during the overnight engagements, further weakening the insurgent presence in the area.
Security forces remain on high alert as follow-up clearance and surveillance missions continue across both provinces. These ongoing efforts aim to eliminate any remaining threats and secure the affected regions from future attacks. Ata Tarar commended the courage and professionalism displayed by the troops, emphasizing that their steadfastness is crucial in safeguarding the motherland.
He remarked, “Our forces have shown remarkable valor and operational efficiency in countering these hostile attacks. The successful defense against multiple coordinated offensives highlights the strength and readiness of Pakistan’s security apparatus.” The minister also indicated that more detailed information regarding the progress and outcomes of Operation Ghazab Lil Haq will be shared later today, as military teams carry out further clearance operations and gather intelligence to ensure lasting security in the region.
