Kuwait Refutes Social Media Rumors of Attacks on Luxury Towers Amid Regional Tensions

The government of Kuwait has firmly rejected recent social media rumors alleging attacks on several high-rise and luxury residential towers located in the southern region of the country. These claims, which began circulating widely online, have been labeled as completely unfounded and misleading by the Ministry of Interior. The ministry’s Cybercrime Department has taken a strong stance against the spread of such misinformation, emphasizing the importance of verifying facts before sharing any content.

First Lieutenant Dhari Al-Awadhi, a spokesperson for the Cybercrime Department, addressed the issue by highlighting that manipulated videos and fabricated reports have been deliberately disseminated to create confusion and fear among the public. He cautioned that such false narratives not only threaten social stability but also pose risks to national security. The department is actively monitoring digital platforms to identify and take action against those responsible for propagating these deceptive messages.

In a clear message to the citizens, Al-Awadhi urged everyone to avoid trusting unconfirmed posts and to wait patiently for official announcements from government authorities. He stressed that spreading unverified information can exacerbate panic and disrupt public order, especially during a period marked by heightened tensions in the broader region. The Cybercrime Department has already initiated investigations into the social media accounts involved in circulating these rumors and warned that legal consequences will follow for anyone found guilty of promoting false news.

Officials also pointed out that the timing of these misleading videos and posts coincides with ongoing geopolitical uncertainties, which may have motivated certain groups to exploit the situation for their own agendas. Despite the alarming nature of the claims, authorities confirmed that no credible evidence exists to support the notion that any attacks have taken place on residential buildings in Kuwait. The government continues to reassure the public that the security situation remains stable and under control.

To further combat the spread of misinformation, the Cybercrime Department has made available an official WhatsApp contact for inquiries and reporting suspicious content. Al-Awadhi encouraged social media users to act responsibly by verifying information through trusted channels and contributing to a calm and informed community atmosphere. The department’s proactive approach underscores Kuwait’s commitment to maintaining peace and security in the face of digital threats and regional challenges.
