Islamabad police have detained a man accused of raping and murdering a three-year-old girl within the jurisdiction of Noon Police Station. The suspect was apprehended less than two hours after the child was reported missing and a case was registered.
Upon learning about the disappearance of the girl, identified as S*, Islamabad DIG Ali Wasim formed police teams under the leadership of Industrial Zone SP Dr. Ayaz Hussain to locate the child and arrest the perpetrator. Utilizing CCTV footage, advanced technology, and human intelligence, the teams successfully traced and arrested the suspect, named Kashif, in under two hours.
Following the suspect’s confession and the identification of the crime scene, police recovered the girl’s body. It was revealed that the suspect was related to the victim, being her brother-in-law.
The body was transferred to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences for medico-legal procedures. Police officers from all zones, including station house officers, actively participated in the search operation.
Investigations are ongoing as authorities continue to examine all aspects of the case. SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, assured that all legal protocols would be strictly followed to ensure the suspect faces justice in accordance with the law.
