Man kills wife and three in-laws before suicide in Lahore

In a tragic incident early Tuesday morning in Lahore’s Barkat Colony, a man reportedly shot dead his wife along with three of her family members before ending his own life. The police identified the assailant as Imran.

The attack occurred in the Chuhng area, where Imran allegedly opened fire on his wife, Samia Bibi, her father Ali Khan, brother Zeeshan Khan, and mother Shamaila Bibi. Following the shootings, Imran committed suicide at the scene.

Relatives recounted that Imran arrived at his in-laws’ residence early in the morning and knocked on the door. When it was opened, he entered and immediately began shooting. Zeeshan Khan, who taught children the Holy Quran, heard the knock and assumed one of his students had arrived for class. Upon opening the door, he was shot first, followed by the other three victims.

It was revealed that Imran had married Samia Bibi in February of this year. However, the marriage was contentious, as the woman’s family later filed a kidnapping complaint against him. Samia had also given a statement against Imran in court, which led to his incarceration for about a month before his recent release.

Family members alleged that the marriage had been forced at gunpoint and only came to light about a month after it occurred, prompting the kidnapping case. Following the killings, Sundar police registered a case based on a complaint filed by Usman, the brother of the deceased woman.

In the FIR, the complainant also named Imran’s father and three brothers. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of the shooting, including the motive behind the attack and the allegations made against the suspect’s family members.
