Pakistan Navy and PMSA Seize Large Liquor Shipment in Gadani Operation

In a significant crackdown on illicit trade, the Pakistan Navy, working alongside the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) and provincial officials, successfully intercepted a large shipment of smuggled liquor near the coastal town of Gadani in Balochistan.

The operation was intelligence-driven and carried out in close cooperation with the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC). Acting on detailed intelligence about the movement of contraband, security forces secured the area in Gadani and prevented the consignment from being transported further inland.

Officials revealed that the seized liquor had been brought from international locations via sea routes, attempting to evade maritime surveillance and enter Pakistan through the Balochistan coastline. Smuggling networks often exploit this extensive coastal region, prompting heightened vigilance by security agencies along these critical maritime pathways.

After the successful seizure, the confiscated liquor was secured and handed over to the Excise, Taxation & Anti Narcotics Department (South Zone) in Balochistan. Provincial authorities have launched investigations to uncover the domestic connections of the smuggling network and have initiated legal proceedings.

The operation highlights the vital role of inter-agency collaboration in combating smuggling. By combining intelligence and operational resources, the Pakistan Navy, PMSA, and provincial anti-narcotics teams have presented a united front against illegal trafficking activities.

Maritime security experts emphasize that such coordinated efforts are crucial for safeguarding Pakistan’s maritime borders and curbing the inflow of contraband, which adversely affects the national economy and supports criminal enterprises.

Security agencies have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining stringent surveillance along the coastline to prevent similar illegal activities in the future.
