ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced updated fees and processing durations for various identity documents, including CNICs, B-Forms, and NICOPs, effective April 7, 2026.

Pakistani citizens applying for their first Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) will continue to receive it free of charge. For subsequent applications, the fee structure and processing times are categorized as follows: New Smart Card applications under the Normal service cost Rs 750 with a 31-day turnaround, Urgent service is Rs 1,500 with a 23-day timeline, and Executive service is Rs 2,500 with a 9-day delivery period.

Renewals or modifications of CNICs follow a similar tiered fee schedule: Normal service is Rs 400 (31 days), Urgent service Rs 1,150 (23 days), and Executive service Rs 2,150 (9 days).

Regarding family and child registrations, the Family Registration Certificate (FRC) is exclusively available under the Executive category for Rs 1,000, processed within 24 hours. The Child Registration Certificate (CRC or B-Form) fees are Rs 50 for Normal service with a 7-day processing time, and Rs 500 for Executive service, which is completed in one day.

In a significant development for Overseas Pakistanis, the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) fees are now differentiated by geographic zones. Zone A, covering regions such as the USA and Europe, charges $39 for Normal processing, $57 for Urgent, and $75 for Executive service. Zone B, which includes the Middle East and Africa, has fees set at $20 for Normal, $30 for Urgent, and $40 for Executive processing.

Meanwhile, NADRA has enhanced the digital integration of its services by simplifying the age modification process for NICOP holders. Officials highlighted that the CNIC and NICOP have evolved beyond mere identity verification tools; they now serve as crucial links to national health and education systems. Valid NADRA-issued IDs are essential for tracking medical records and verifying student enrollment in educational institutions.

Additionally, citizens can now conveniently update their personal information and renew identity documents remotely through the Pak-ID mobile application, streamlining access to these vital services.
