Kuwait Airways has announced the reinstatement of its commercial flight services to Colombo, set to commence on April 15, 2026. This route will operate via the Saudi Arabian city of Dammam, marking a significant step in the airline’s efforts to enhance connectivity in the region. The decision to resume flights to Colombo reflects the route’s strategic importance and strong passenger demand.

In a statement, Abdulwahab Al-Shatti, the acting chief executive of Kuwait Airways, emphasized that the airline has recently strengthened its operational capabilities and mobilized additional resources to better accommodate increasing travel needs. This move is part of a broader initiative to expand the airline’s network and improve access to vital destinations across multiple continents.

Notably, the Colombo route is integrated into Kuwait Airways’ growing hub at Dammam, which already serves as a connecting point for flights to prominent cities including London, Cairo, Istanbul, Lahore, Amman, Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Kochi, and Manila. With the addition of Colombo, the airline’s network now encompasses 11 destinations accessible via Dammam, underscoring its commitment to expanding its regional and international reach.

Meanwhile, Kuwait Airways has also introduced a new visa application service tailored for residents of Saudi Arabia. This service is available to passengers who hold confirmed bookings with the airline, aiming to streamline travel preparations and enhance the overall customer experience. These developments highlight Kuwait Airways’ strategic focus on improving operational efficiency and passenger convenience as it broadens its flight offerings.
