    Rachel Zegler Wins Best Actress in Musical at 2026 Olivier Awards

    Rachel Zegler has secured another prestigious accolade by winning Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in Evita, which was staged at the London Palladium last year. During the awards ceremony, she also delivered a memorable rendition of “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina,” earning a standing ovation from the audience.

    At just 24 years old, Zegler has been a focal point of controversy since her role in Snow White, yet she emerged as one of the most notable winners at the 2026 Laurence Olivier Awards. The event took place on April 12 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, celebrating excellence in British theatre.

    Other significant winners included Rosamund Pike, who received Best Actress for her role in Inter Alia at the National Theatre, and Paapa Essiedu, awarded Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in All My Sons at Wyndham’s Theatre. Notably, All My Sons, a revival of Arthur Miller’s 1946 classic, also took home the Best Revival award.

    Paddington The Musical was among the evening’s biggest successes. Directed by Luke Sheppard, the production won Best New Musical and Best Director, alongside multiple acting honors. The ceremony, hosted by Nick Mohammed, highlighted the best in musicals, plays, and revivals across London’s vibrant theatre scene.

    • Best Actor — Jack Holden for Kenrex
    • Best Actor in a Musical — James Hameed & Arti Shah for Paddington The Musical
    • Best Actress in a Musical — Rachel Zegler for Evita
    • Best Actress in a Supporting Role — Julie Hesmondhalgh for Punch
    • Best Actor in a Supporting Role — Paapa Essiedu for All My Sons
    • Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical — Tom Edden for Paddington The Musical
    • Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical — Victoria Hamilton-Barritt for Paddington The Musical
    • Sir Peter Hall Award for Best Director — Luke Sheppard for Paddington The Musical
