In a significant development aimed at enhancing Pakistan International Airlines’ fleet, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi engaged in high-level discussions with Boeing’s Global President Brendan Nelson on Thursday. The meeting took place at Boeing’s headquarters in Washington, where both parties explored various options for the procurement of new aircraft to strengthen PIA’s operational capabilities.

Accompanied by a delegation led by the Arif Habib Corporation, Naqvi and Nelson conducted detailed talks focusing on securing the best possible deal for the acquisition of 16 new airplanes. This initiative reflects Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to modernize its national carrier and improve its competitive standing in the global aviation sector.

During the meeting, Naqvi expressed his appreciation for Boeing’s commitment to facilitating a swift and efficient purchase process. He acknowledged the company’s pivotal role in the international aviation manufacturing industry and emphasized the importance of their cooperation in supporting Pakistan’s aviation ambitions.

Meanwhile, the discussions underscored a mutual interest in fostering stronger bilateral ties through this commercial partnership. The agreement to continue exploring optimal solutions for the aircraft deal marks a promising step toward revitalizing PIA’s fleet and enhancing air connectivity for Pakistan.
