Apple has confirmed through an EU energy label that its foldable iPhone Duo comes with a 4,883 mAh battery. The figure matches a prediction made in July by the leaker Digital Chat Station, which had suggested the battery would be fairly small.
That makes the battery slightly bigger than the 4,800 mAh cell in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, even though Samsung’s foldable is much thinner and lighter. The Huawei Pura X Max, which is just as thick as the iPhone Duo, has a larger 5,300 mAh battery, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max carries 5,391 mAh.
Battery life and replacement costs for iPhone Duo
The EU label says the battery should last 51 hours and 30 minutes, more than ten hours less than the iPhone 18 Pro Max. It also notes that this kind of endurance usually only happens with light use.
Apple says the battery will retain more than 1,000 charge cycles before its capacity falls to 80 percent. Charging fully every day, a user would need a replacement in just under three years, at a cost of $229.
Durability ratings still await real-world testing
The iPhone Duo is IP68-certified and shares the same drop resistance and repairability ratings as the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Those ratings come from Apple rather than the EU.
Its real-world durability will only be known once shipping begins.
