Former Australian cricketer Ashley Noffke has stepped down from his role as Pakistan’s bowling coach to take up the position of head coach for the Netherlands men’s cricket team on a two-year contract. Noffke, who joined Pakistan’s coaching staff in May last year, is leaving due to personal reasons and will remain with the national side only until after the Asian Games.
In his new role, Noffke is expected to guide the Netherlands team through major upcoming events, including the 2027 Men’s World Cup and the 2028 T20 World Cup qualifying tournament. This marks a significant transition as he moves from coaching a Test-playing nation to leading an associate cricket team on the global stage.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has initiated the search for a new bowling coach. The board has officially announced the vacancy and invited applications for the position, which will cover responsibilities for both Pakistan’s red-ball and white-ball teams. Candidates must possess at least five years of coaching experience along with Level 3 coaching qualifications. The deadline for submissions is October 8.
During his tenure with Pakistan, Noffke also served as interim bowling coach during the Birmingham Test. His appointment followed the removal of former fast bowler Umar Gul from the bowling coach role during Pakistan’s England tour. With Noffke’s departure, the PCB is focused on securing a permanent bowling coach to oversee the national team’s bowling unit across all formats.
