Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir is being commemorated to draw global attention to the ongoing human rights abuses and oppressive measures imposed by Indian authorities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K). This day serves as a reminder of the persistent struggle faced by the Kashmiri people under Indian administration since the region’s disputed status escalated in 2019. The observance aims to highlight the severe restrictions on civil liberties, including communication blackouts, arbitrary detentions, and excessive use of force.

In a significant development, the day underscores the international community’s call for addressing the Kashmir conflict through peaceful dialogue and respect for human rights. The observance also seeks to reinforce Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir, emphasizing the need for a just resolution in line with United Nations resolutions. Meanwhile, various political and social organizations hold events and campaigns to educate the public and advocate for the Kashmiri cause.

Notably, Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir plays a crucial role in mobilizing support for the Kashmiri people and maintaining global focus on the region’s plight. The day also serves as a platform to condemn the alleged violations and to urge international bodies to intervene for the protection of human rights. Through these efforts, the observance contributes to sustaining momentum for a peaceful and equitable solution to the Kashmir dispute.
