In a significant development within the Islamabad police hierarchy, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Jawad Tariq has been relieved of his duties. This change was formalized through an official notification released on Saturday, marking a notable shift in the leadership of the capital’s law enforcement operations.
The notification further stated that Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, Captain (retd) Ali Raza, has been entrusted with the additional responsibilities of DIG Operations Islamabad. This dual role places Captain Ali Raza at the helm of both SSP and DIG Operations, consolidating command under his leadership for the time being.
This move comes amid ongoing efforts to streamline operational command within Islamabad’s police force, ensuring more cohesive management of security and law enforcement activities. Captain (retd) Ali Raza’s appointment to oversee both positions reflects confidence in his capabilities to handle the increased scope of duties effectively.
Authorities have indicated that Captain Ali Raza will continue to perform these combined roles until further instructions are issued, signaling a period of transition and potential restructuring within the police operations framework in Islamabad.
