Pakistan Launches ‘Mango Diplomacy’ Sending Premium Mangoes to 76 Nations

Pakistan has initiated a new phase of its “mango diplomacy” campaign, with the government deciding to send high-quality mangoes as gifts to heads of state, senior officials, diplomats, and other distinguished international personalities across 76 countries. This goodwill effort is spearheaded by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) revealed that more than 34 tonnes of premium Pakistani mangoes will be shipped in 6,896 specially designed boxes, each weighing five kilograms. This initiative aims to highlight Pakistan’s globally acclaimed mangoes while boosting the country’s agricultural and horticultural exports on the international stage.

Notably, the largest shipments this year are destined for Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, and China, alongside several other friendly and partner nations included in the campaign. The mangoes are being packed and transported international standards to maintain their freshness and quality throughout transit.

Pakistan ranks among the world’s top mango producers, with its fruit celebrated for its unique aroma, taste, and superior quality. Authorities anticipate that this campaign will elevate the global reputation of Pakistani mangoes and expand their footprint in foreign markets.

Meanwhile, TDAP emphasized that this initiative serves not only as a diplomatic gesture but also as a strategic effort to promote Pakistan’s premium agricultural products abroad. Officials described “mango diplomacy” as a vital element of Pakistan’s soft diplomacy, designed to cultivate goodwill, enhance mutual trust, and strengthen friendly relations with partner countries.
