Just days before the Eid-ul-Fitr festivities, the Punjab government has initiated a comprehensive reshuffle within its provincial bureaucracy, signaling a strategic move to enhance governance and administrative performance across the region. This large-scale reorganization involves numerous transfers and fresh appointments spanning various departments and districts, reflecting the government’s commitment to strengthening institutional efficiency ahead of the holiday season.

Among the notable changes, Muhammad Faisal Saleem has been assigned the role of Additional Secretary to the Additional Chief Secretary, a key position that supports high-level administrative coordination. Meanwhile, Asadullah has taken on the responsibility of Additional Secretary (Admin) within the Communication and Works Department, a critical sector that oversees infrastructure development and maintenance throughout the province. Khurram Pervez’s new posting at the Punjab Rural Municipal Services Company (PRMSC) highlights the government’s focus on improving rural municipal services, while Rana Musa Tahir has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Finance Department, tasked with managing fiscal policies and budgetary oversight.

The reshuffle also extends to district-level appointments, which are vital for local governance and service delivery. Sherina Ghulam Murtaza Junejo has been posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue (ADCR) in Faisalabad, one of Punjab’s major industrial hubs. Ahmed Haroon will serve as ADCR in Sargodha, a district known for its agricultural significance, and Sarah Loni has been assigned the same role in Narowal. Similarly, Shagufta Jabeen has been appointed ADCR in Bahawalpur, Muhammad Fazal Abbas in Khanewal, and Marhaba Naimat in Sahiwal, ensuring that administrative oversight is reinforced across these key districts.

In addition to these appointments, the wildlife sector has seen a significant change with Fahad Mahmood taking charge as the Additional Chief of the Punjab Wildlife and Parks Department. This move underscores the government’s intent to prioritize environmental conservation and wildlife management. Furthermore, Captain (R) Sami Tayyab Khan has been posted to the Lahore Development Authority, which plays a crucial role in urban planning and development, while Captain (R) Osama Majeed has been assigned to the Punjab Food Authority, responsible for food safety and regulation.

Administrative adjustments also include the reassignment of Saria Haider, who previously served as ADCR Mianwali and has now been designated as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD). Mohammad Shahid will take over her previous responsibilities. Other key appointments include Zainab Jehandad as Deputy Secretary in the Interior Department and Muhammad Kamran Afzal as Deputy Secretary in the Local Government Department, both pivotal roles in maintaining law and order and overseeing local governance structures.

Further postings include Alizeh Rehan as Deputy Commissioner General (DCG) in Jhelum and Anwar Ali as Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) in Faisalabad. Anam Babar has been named Deputy Secretary in the Specialized Healthcare Department, highlighting the government’s focus on improving health services. Sufyan Dilawar has been posted as ADCG in Nankana Sahib, while Labah Masih Zeeshan, previously ADCG in Toba Tek Singh, has been moved to OSD status with Tariq Usman stepping into his role. Additionally, Ghulam Mustafa, ADCG Bahawalpur, has also been directed to report as OSD, with Ayesha Khan appointed as the new ADCG in Bahawalpur.

Lastly, Ahmed Raza Butt has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Energy Department, a sector critical to Punjab’s development and industrial growth. This extensive reshuffle reflects the provincial government’s strategic approach to optimize administrative functions and ensure that officials are positioned where their skills and expertise can be most effectively utilized. All officers are expected to take charge of their new assignments immediately, as the government aims to maintain momentum in public service delivery during the festive period and beyond.
