Pakistan’s embassy in Qatar has announced plans to roll out e-passport services from October 15. From that date, Pakistani diplomatic missions, the Doha embassy among them, will stop taking in or handling applications for Machine Readable Passports (MRPs), the embassy stated.
The e-passport is described as a biometric travel document that meets international norms. It carries advanced security features aimed at making overseas trips safer and more efficient.
Holders of MRPs issued before October 15 can keep using them under current rules until they expire, the embassy clarified.
