SSWMB Launches Citywide Campaign for Eidul Azha Cleanliness

The Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) has initiated a widespread awareness campaign aimed at ensuring cleanliness throughout the city during the upcoming Eidul Azha celebrations. This drive, titled ‘Wada Karo,’ encourages citizens to commit to maintaining hygiene and proper waste disposal during the festive period. The campaign highlights the importance of collective responsibility in managing the increased waste generated during Eid.

In a significant development, the SSWMB is mobilizing resources and coordinating with local authorities to enhance waste collection and sanitation services. The initiative seeks to minimize environmental pollution and health hazards commonly associated with festival-related waste. Public cooperation is deemed essential to the success of this campaign, which also includes educational outreach and community engagement activities.

Notably, Eidul Azha is a major religious festival marked by the sacrifice of animals, leading to a substantial rise in organic and non-organic waste. The SSWMB’s proactive approach aims to address these challenges by promoting sustainable waste management practices. This effort is expected to improve urban cleanliness, reduce disease risks, and foster a culture of environmental stewardship among residents.
