Karachi: Rising actress Khadija Saleem has revealed her mixed emotions of anxiety and excitement as her new drama serial, Mahnoor, is set to premiere today. During an appearance on a popular morning show, the cast—including Humayoun Ashraf, Zoya Nasir, and Khadija herself—came together to discuss the upcoming series.
The drama is scheduled to air Monday through Friday at 9:00 PM on ARY Digital, with its debut episode launching tonight, April 15. Khadija candidly shared that she is feeling the pressure of taking on her first lead role. “My hands are trembling; I am quite nervous,” she admitted. “It’s surprising how quickly the lead role has come to life on screen, even though we still have around 10 to 12 days of filming remaining.”
In a significant development, Khadija expressed confidence in the show’s potential success but also acknowledged a personal sense of apprehension. “There is a heavy responsibility resting on my shoulders. I tend to get a little anxious when I watch myself on screen,” she confessed.
Meanwhile, Khadija spoke warmly about the production process, highlighting the close bond she formed with co-star Zoya Nasir and describing the set environment as consistently positive. Zoya also praised the project, stating, “Everyone has put in tremendous effort. The script is excellent, and each character feels very relatable. Both Mahnoor’s character and Khadija Saleem look stunning on screen.”
The drama boasts a strong supporting cast, including Malik Aqeel, Adnan Shah Tipu, Agha Mustafa Hassan, Rubina Ashraf, Alyy Khan, among others. Mahnoor is penned by Noor Kalam and Haroon Ahmed, with direction by Arshi Ali and Hasham Syed.
