Two Saudi military officers died on Sunday after a reconnaissance helicopter went down in Najran, in southern Saudi Arabia. The Saudi-led coalition attributed the crash to a technical malfunction.
In an official statement, the coalition said the aircraft, an AH-6i, belonged to the Ministry of National Guard and came down inside Saudi territory. Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Maliki confirmed both people on board were killed, but did not name them or release further details.

The statement gave no further account of what led to the accident. It ended with condolences to the families of the two officers.
Separately, the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced early on Sunday that it had intercepted and destroyed two Houthi ballistic missiles aimed at Khamis Mushait, along with three drones over the Riyadh and Eastern regions.

Earlier, Saudi Civil Defense had issued early warning alerts in Riyadh, Abha and Khamis Mushait, later announcing that the danger had passed.
