Verizon said it will charge $10 a month for Apple’s new iPhone Handoff feature, which lets users share one phone number between two active iPhones. The carrier announced the pricing as it opened pre-orders for the new iPhone Duo.
The feature, introduced in iOS 27, allows subscribers to move their active cellular service between devices without changing SIM cards. For example, a user could use a compact iPhone Duo while out and switch to an iPhone 19 Pro for work.
How the price compares with rivals
Verizon’s fee totals $120 a year, twice the $5 monthly charge T-Mobile applies for the same service. AT&T has not announced plans to offer this dual-device feature.
Verizon said subscribers will still get full access to its 5G network on both devices, though only one phone can have active cellular service at a time. The company said the feature is “coming soon” but did not give a launch date.
Setup requirements and cancellation
Both phones must run iOS 27, be signed in to the same Apple Account, and use eSIM activation. Deleting an eSIM does not stop the monthly charge, so customers must cancel with their carrier.
