In a significant development for motorsport enthusiasts, Istanbul’s circuit located on the Asian side will host the Formula 1 Grand Prix beginning in 2027. This agreement guarantees the race will take place in the city for at least five consecutive years, marking a major return to the F1 calendar. The venue is well-regarded among drivers and fans alike for its challenging layout and vibrant atmosphere.

Notably, the Istanbul circuit last featured in the Formula 1 calendar in 2021, when it hosted a memorable race that was praised for its competitive racing and unpredictable weather conditions. The return of the Grand Prix is expected to boost local tourism and global interest in the region, reinforcing Turkey’s position in the international motorsport community. The event’s revival also reflects Formula 1’s ongoing strategy to expand its presence in diverse global markets.

Meanwhile, the five-year hosting commitment provides stability for teams, sponsors, and fans planning to attend the races. It also offers Istanbul an opportunity to further develop its infrastructure and enhance the race weekend experience. As preparations begin, anticipation is growing for the thrilling competition and economic benefits that the Istanbul Grand Prix will bring starting in 2027.
