Multan Sultans put up a strong total of 200 runs for seven wickets in their 20 overs against Karachi Kings in their Pakistan Super League encounter, setting a challenging target of 208 for the opposition.

Sent in to bat first, the Sultans faced an early blow as their key batsman Steve Smith was dismissed without scoring. Nevertheless, the middle and lower order responded well, collectively stabilizing the innings and positioning the team strongly.

Shan Masood led the batting effort with a quickfire 46 runs off 25 balls, maintaining an impressive strike rate throughout. Josh Philippe provided a brisk start with 44 runs from 23 deliveries, including five boundaries and two sixes. Awais Zafar also played a crucial role, contributing a steady 36 runs off 27 balls to anchor the innings.

In the final overs, Mohammad Imran accelerated the scoring with an unbeaten 26 runs from just 8 balls, while Mohammad Wasim Jr. added a quick 7 not out off 2 deliveries, ensuring a strong finish to the innings.

On the bowling front for Karachi Kings, Khushdil Shah was the most effective, claiming three important wickets including those of Zafar, Smith, and Philippe. Moeen Ali supported well by taking two wickets, while Hasan Ali and Adam Zampa took one wicket each.

Chasing 208 runs, Karachi Kings now face a required run rate of 10.40. With momentum clearly on Multan Sultans’ side, they hold the advantage as the second innings gets underway.
