In a significant diplomatic exchange today, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar engaged in a detailed telephonic discussion with his Iraqi counterpart, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein. The conversation centered on the escalating tensions currently affecting the broader region, a matter both leaders agreed demands urgent attention and cooperative action.

Both officials conveyed their profound concern regarding the ongoing surge in regional instability, highlighting the potential repercussions that could extend beyond their immediate borders. They acknowledged that the current situation poses serious risks not only to their respective countries but also to the wider international community, emphasizing the need for a unified response.

During the dialogue, Ishaq Dar stressed the critical importance of collective efforts aimed at de-escalating the rising tensions. He pointed out that without coordinated measures, the fragile peace in the region could be further jeopardized, potentially leading to more widespread conflict. Dar reiterated that the path to lasting stability lies in sustained dialogue and a firm commitment to upholding international law.

Furthermore, both leaders underscored that diplomatic engagement and respect for established legal frameworks are indispensable tools for fostering peace and security. They agreed that these principles must guide all regional actors to ensure not only immediate calm but also long-term stability and prosperity for their nations and neighboring states.

In addition to addressing these pressing issues, the conversation also provided an opportunity for the two ministers to exchange warm Eid greetings, reflecting the enduring cultural and diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Iraq. This gesture underscored the importance of maintaining strong bilateral relations even amidst challenging geopolitical circumstances.

Overall, this high-level communication highlights Pakistan and Iraq’s shared commitment to promoting peace and stability in a region currently fraught with uncertainty. It serves as a reminder that dialogue and cooperation remain essential in navigating complex international challenges and preventing further escalation.
