Sohail Afridi disqualification process, Faisal Vawda claims

Senator Faisal Vawda has claimed that a process to disqualify Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is already underway, and he predicted that Afridi would be disqualified. Speaking on the programme Khabar, Vawda made the remarks in Islamabad.

Vawda said the newly formed KP Advisory Council has 180 days to show results and that failure would not be tolerated. He said that if Governor Faisal Karim Kundi delivered even five to 10 per cent of the expected results, the public would move to the next phase on its own. Members who fail to deliver within that period could also be replaced.

Vawda criticises PTI record in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Vawda said he had criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government while it was in power and had kept speaking out against its performance. He questioned what the party had achieved during its 13 years in the province. He claimed that terrorism in KP had risen by 195 per cent and that around 7,500 police, military personnel and civilians had been killed.

The senator said the new administration would be judged by what it delivers rather than what it promises. Citing an Rs11 billion aircraft and Rs6 billion vehicles, he said those who performed would remain in their posts while those who failed would be removed.

Reboot phases and accountability warning from Vawda

Vawda said the reboot process had started in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and that its first phase was now underway. He said the current focus was on tackling terrorism, while the next phase would address what he described as state terrorism.

He also warned that the public would no longer tolerate the conduct of the ruling elite and would hold those in power accountable. The senator added that his future forecasts would prove correct and said he would continue to share them in advance.
