The Tehreek Tahafuz Aain Pakistan (TTAP) has declared its support for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) upcoming protest march scheduled for October 4 in Islamabad, confirming its participation in the demonstration.
TTAP spokesperson Akhunzada Hussain Ahmed Yousafzai stated that the opposition alliance, of which PTI is a member, had collectively endorsed the October 4 march. He added that the leadership had unanimously agreed on the September 27 protest call as a joint initiative and had developed a coordinated strategy for protests in Sindh and Balochistan.
Yousafzai further revealed that extensive consultations took place with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister and PTI leadership regarding the previously postponed September 27 march. He emphasized that the KP Chief Minister had clarified that the decision to delay the September 27 protest was made by PTI’s political committee.
He noted that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan had engaged with opposition leaders before the political committee finalized its decision. Opposition leaders reportedly stressed to Barrister Gohar the critical importance of every day starting from September 27, highlighting the urgency given the current political climate.
Yousafzai, the opposition conveyed that the opportunity to act was unique and that the present circumstances were vital for safeguarding the country’s democratic future and upholding constitutional supremacy.
He added that the opposition alliance had already formulated a protest strategy and that ongoing coordination among allied parties would continue to determine future actions. TTAP and its partners are committed to participating in the October 4 march, with consultations and collaboration actively underway.
In a related development, KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi extended an offer for dialogue to the federal government, stating that those interested in negotiations have a seven-day window to resolve the matter peacefully.
