Defense Minister Khawaja Asif expressed profound regret over the recent violent attacks targeting Iran, describing the incidents as deeply saddening for every Pakistani. Speaking on Sunday, he highlighted the close diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Iran, emphasizing that Pakistan has consistently extended its support to Iran through all available diplomatic channels and moral backing. His remarks came at a time when regional tensions have escalated, underscoring the importance of maintaining peace and stability.

In his message posted on the social media platform X, Khawaja Asif reiterated Pakistan’s condemnation of the attacks on Iran, noting that the country had also raised its voice against these acts at the United Nations. This international condemnation reflects Pakistan’s commitment to upholding regional security and fostering good neighborly relations. The Defense Minister’s statement serves as a reminder of Pakistan’s role in supporting peace efforts amidst a complex geopolitical landscape.

Furthermore, Khawaja Asif appealed directly to religious parties and the general public within Pakistan, urging them to exercise patience and restraint during this sensitive period. He warned that any escalation into violent protests or attempts by individuals to take the law into their own hands would ultimately play into the hands of Pakistan’s adversaries. His cautionary message underscores the potential risks of unrest and the importance of collective responsibility in preserving national harmony.

He stressed that it is incumbent upon every citizen to manage their emotions carefully and avoid actions that could lead to chaos or disorder. The Defense Minister emphasized that protests, if held, must remain peaceful and orderly to prevent any form of disruption. This call for calm reflects the government’s broader strategy to maintain internal security while navigating external challenges.

In conclusion, Khawaja Asif’s comments highlight the delicate balance Pakistan seeks to maintain in its foreign relations with Iran, while also ensuring domestic stability. His appeal for peaceful conduct and measured responses serves as a crucial reminder of the responsibilities shared by both the leadership and the public in times of regional uncertainty.
