Security forces successfully eliminated 12 militants in two distinct intelligence-driven operations conducted in Balochistan’s Washuk and Mastung districts as part of Operation Radd-ul-Fitnah 3, the military’s media wing announced on Thursday.

The operations specifically targeted militants affiliated with “Fitna al Hindustan,” a designation used for Indian-backed militant groups operating in the region. The first operation took place on August 5 in Washuk district, following intelligence reports about militant movements in the area. During this engagement, security forces attacked a militants’ hideout, resulting in the deaths of six terrorists.

In a significant development, a second intelligence-based operation was launched on August 6 in Mastung district, where another six militants were neutralized and their hideouts destroyed. These coordinated actions form part of the ongoing campaign aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and eradicating militancy across the country.

The Inter-Services Public Relations emphasized that security forces remain resolute in their mission to eliminate terrorism from Pakistan and will persist in their operations until the threat is fully eradicated.

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari lauded the security forces for their professionalism and bravery in these operations. He highlighted that the success reflects the unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s military in combating terrorism. The president condemned “Fitna al Hindustan” and its supporters as adversaries of Pakistan’s peace, stability, and progress, affirming that all terrorist plots will be thwarted.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised the troops for their effective actions in Washuk and Mastung, acknowledging the elimination of 12 terrorists. He reiterated the government’s determination under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam to achieve significant victories against terrorism and to eradicate all forms of militancy from the nation.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed his admiration for the security forces’ professionalism and courage, emphasizing the nation’s appreciation for their sacrifices and successes in restoring peace in Balochistan. He underlined that the entire country stands united in support of efforts to combat terrorism.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti stated that the successful operations demonstrate the nation’s firm resolve against terrorism and pledged to counter any conspiracies aimed at destabilizing peace in the province. He emphasized that combating terrorism is a collective responsibility requiring national unity and cohesion. Bugti assured that the provincial government will continue to safeguard citizens’ lives and property while advancing development, with ongoing operations against terrorists and foreign-backed elements.

In recent months, Pakistan has intensified intelligence-based operations across Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa amid a rise in militant attacks. Security forces continue to conduct targeted operations against armed groups responsible for assaults on civilians and personnel. These recent successes reaffirm the authorities’ commitment to dismantling militant networks and maintaining pressure on insurgent groups in the country’s restive areas.
