    Rana Sanaullah Warns Bilawal’s Comments May Aggravate Political Tensions

    Islamabad: Rana Sanaullah, the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs, issued a warning on Sunday that recent comments made by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari risk exacerbating the already fragile political climate. He described Bilawal’s remarks as inappropriate and urged him to adopt a more responsible tone befitting a national leader.

    During a televised discussion, Sanaullah specifically criticized Bilawal’s comments regarding Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, suggesting they reflected an unconstructive attitude. He emphasized that political discourse should focus on unity rather than inciting division for electoral gain.

    Highlighting the internal dynamics of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Sanaullah noted that the party has never resorted to expelling members harshly, contrasting this with the current political rhetoric.

    Turning to the situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Sanaullah pointed out that the AJK prime minister had officially declared the Joint Action Committee a banned entity, a move supported by the federal government. He accused Bilawal of opposing this decision through his public statements.

    Furthermore, Sanaullah clarified that no First Information Report (FIR) had been filed against Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and the government had no intention of prolonging the issue.

    Meanwhile, at an election rally in Kotli, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari challenged the PML-N, predicting a historic defeat for the party in the upcoming AJK elections and asserting that only the PPP would form the next government. He stressed that the future of Kashmir lies solely with its people, rejecting any external claims over the region’s destiny.

    Bilawal also criticized PML-N ministers, accusing them of harming the interests of Kashmiris. He declared that until Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif publicly responded to Defence Minister Asif’s remarks, he would interpret the federal government’s stance as aligned with those comments.

    In addition, Bilawal renewed his call for establishing a truth and reconciliation commission to address the situation in AJK and urged the restoration of internet services in the region. He noted that no feedback had been received from relevant stakeholders on the proposal and invited the government to propose alternative solutions if the commission could not be formed.
