KARACHI: Advocate Jibran Nasir, counsel for the family of Mir Raza, has written to the chief minister and chief secretary of Sindh demanding the complete report and recommendations of an inquiry commission. He also wants a new joint investigation team (JIT) formed to reinvestigate the case.
In a 10-page letter containing more than 50 points, Nasir called for a new JIT made up of federal and provincial officers who have had no previous involvement in the case. He said the letter continues his earlier correspondence dated August 19, 2026.
Family seeks commission report and fresh investigation team
The letter states that the deceased’s parents want access to the commission’s full report and recommendations. The family has also asked for a new investigation team to carry out a fresh probe, stressing that officers with no prior connection to the case should be involved.
Nasir said his clients appreciated the setting up of the inquiry commission and the transparency of its proceedings. However, they have requested a copy of the recommendations and final report.
Lawyer rejects changes to medical board findings
Nasir said his clients reject any attempt to alter the findings of the special medical board. He added that the family had faced uncertainty and investigative irregularities for months.
Sindh government urged to act decisively
The letter urges the Sindh government to give the findings to the victim’s family as soon as the final report is submitted. It also calls on the provincial government to understand the sensitivity of the matter and take immediate and decisive action.
