Kuwait Imposes Temporary Ban on Fishing and Outdoor Gatherings Amid Safety Concerns

The Ministry of Interior in Kuwait has introduced a set of precautionary measures designed to enhance public safety in light of the evolving situation both within the country and across the wider region. These steps reflect the government’s commitment to safeguarding its citizens and residents during times of uncertainty.

Among the key directives, the ministry has implemented a temporary suspension on all fishing activities and recreational boating. This ban prohibits fishing vessels and pleasure boats from venturing out to sea until further notice, aiming to minimize risks associated with maritime activities during this sensitive period.

In addition to restrictions on sea travel, authorities have strongly advised the public to delay visits to desert camps, which are popular recreational spots, especially during weekends and holidays. The ministry has also discouraged the organisation and participation in outdoor events, including traditional celebrations such as Girgian, which typically involve large gatherings and could potentially increase safety risks.

Officials have emphasized that these measures are strictly precautionary and temporary, underscoring that they are closely monitoring the situation as it develops. The Interior Ministry has urged all residents and citizens to stay informed through official government channels and to comply fully with the guidelines issued. This cooperation is crucial to maintaining public order and ensuring the wellbeing of everyone living in Kuwait.

These actions come amid heightened regional tensions and a broader focus on public security, reflecting Kuwait’s proactive approach to crisis management. By taking these preventive steps, the government aims to mitigate any potential threats and maintain stability within its borders during uncertain times.
