Kuwait Imposes Temporary Ban on Fishing Trips and Outdoor Gatherings for Public Safety

The Ministry of Interior in Kuwait has introduced a set of precautionary regulations designed to protect public safety in light of the evolving situation both within the country and across the wider region. These measures come as part of a broader effort to mitigate potential risks and ensure the wellbeing of all residents and citizens.

Among the key directives announced, the ministry has imposed a temporary suspension on all fishing activities and pleasure boat excursions. This ban prevents any vessels from venturing out to sea until further notice, reflecting the authorities’ cautious approach to maritime safety during this uncertain period. The decision affects recreational boaters and fishing enthusiasts alike, underscoring the seriousness with which the government is treating the current circumstances.

In addition to restrictions on sea travel, officials have strongly advised the public to delay visits to desert camps, which are popular leisure destinations for families and tourists. The ministry also discouraged the organisation and attendance of outdoor events, including traditional festivities such as the Girgian celebrations, which typically involve large gatherings. These steps aim to reduce the risk of incidents and maintain public order amid heightened vigilance.

Authorities emphasized that these measures are strictly temporary and preventive, intended to respond swiftly to any emerging threats or developments. The Interior Ministry has committed to closely monitoring the situation and will adjust the restrictions as necessary based on ongoing assessments. Residents have been urged to stay informed through official government channels and to adhere strictly to all instructions issued by the state to guarantee their own safety and that of the community.

This proactive stance by Kuwait’s government highlights the importance of collective responsibility during times of uncertainty. By limiting outdoor activities and controlling maritime movements, the country aims to minimize potential hazards and maintain stability. Citizens and expatriates alike are expected to cooperate fully with these directives as the authorities continue to prioritize public security.
